Occasionally the Voice Box harmonies are a bit off key. I’ve read in a couple of reviews that those of us without perfect pitch should use a compressor with the effect. Has anyone tried this? What were the results?
I’m not sure how a compressor would help with harmonies/lack of perfect pitch. If you can’t sing the note going in, I figure it won’t harmonize correctly. A compressor probably sounds good with the voicebox and all, but it won’t correct your pitch.
Hello All,
A COMP won’t do anything for pitch but it may help you hear more clearly if you are monitoring the FX while you sing. If you use it live this will help you keep the monitor level down so you can hear your own voice in the mix clearly & concentrate on finding your pitches. Same in the studio but of course you can listen to your recording, say something like “AAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!” & then try it again………..
