Using a Voice Box with a cheap mic and a Korg X50 synthesizer. The synthesizer is inputting with a 1/4″ connection on both ends and the mic is inputting with XLR input from the mic and 1/4″ adapted to XLR into the voicebox. The effect is outputting with XLR on both ends (my amp is a PA that only has XLR input) and the instrument is outputting 1/4″ on both ends adapted to XLR to go into the amp. However, I only have one amp with one input and so can only plug in one at a time.
My issue is that no matter what harmony mode I use or vocoder and no matter what settings, I can only hear dry vocals coming out of the effects. I know the synth input is not the issue because I can hear dry synth output fine using just the instrument output. Is my problem just that I need both plugged in? That seems wrong as the manual recommends muting the inst output for the vocoder and says inst input is not needed for octaves. Please help, I can’t get anything except dry vocals.
Disregard that, works fine now.
I am having the same problem. How did you fix it?
It turns out that the light next to “Mic Bypass” doesn’t mean it’s on, it means it’s off. You want it to be off. So go to vocoder mode, tap the footswitch until the light next to Mic Bypass is on and turn the knob fully clockwise on Dry/Wet. If that was your problem, don’t worry, I felt stupid too.
