    for getting a treadle type control on a pedal, couldn’t you just use an expression out and a standard enclosure? I mean, yeah it might be a bit impractical but it’d get the job done and would open up options for swapping out LDRs and whatever.

    true Cryabetes, but ive done that before and it works in most situations. but i have a couple ideas for circuits that a treadle type enclosure would be necessary. i mean, …wouldnt it be dumb if crybabys were made in a nano enclosure (the board would fit) but then they required you to get an expression pedal as well to be able to use it at all?

    god I kinda wish they would so I could arrange it [on the pedal board] to have the bypass switch in the ‘heel’ position. I don’t know whose brilliant idea it was to make it jump to max resonance upon turning on but every time I use one I get annoyed by that.

    funnily enough, that’s almost what I’m just about to do to my wah… although I’m just taking the switch out of it all together, drilling a hole in the side of the case and putting the switch in a separate little box to the side… so I can kick the wah on with the treadle any position I like. I use my wah more like a filter (with some subtle movement sometimes) not that wacka wacka stuff, so I think this will perfect.

    No kidding about the switch in toe down position. I didn’t use a wah fer years because of the horrible resonance when engaged. Now I run it in an effects loop of my voodoo lab pedal switcher, so like Melx said, I can turn it on in any position I like. And I too use mine more as a filter. Hey Melx, what kinda wah do you use? I’m always looking for interesting filter type ideas!

    Just a cheap regular crybaby I bought used and modded it.. did the ‘midrange’ & ‘vocal’ … & changed the sweep for less treble, also TB’d it with volume mod.

    it has a really cool ‘wwwoooooooaaaawww’ sound now and is brilliant for creating feedback.

    It’s a 1 trick pony, but lots of fun. Sounds a bit like a Golden Throat.

    So far I can pronounce “yeah!” , “E I E I O” , and “Oy E Oy E O” . :D
