it says in the description that it is tip positive
Only if you have polarity backwards. Check it with a multimeter and make sure the tip is positive.
what if the tip is positive and the rod inside the tip is negative???
Then cut the wires and reattach them swapped around.
You’re correct. This one should work at least as well as the vintage EH 18v adapters.
You know you can not even bother with the polarity if you make a converter adapter, costs about a dollar to make and converts any neg center to pos center and visa versa.
thank you all for the help and I really appreciate it so the part that plugs into the mistress has to be just like a basic headphones jack in size and type???? – http://img.alibaba.com/photo/11730506/Audio_Extension_Cable.jpg
Almost. The headphone plug is stereo, which means you’ll have three connections: left, right and ground. You want a mono plug, that only has hot and ground. They have just one black plastic stripe instead of two.
Hi,
I live in europe and would need an adapter aswell..
Firstly, i’ve read this topic and it seems that you guys are speaking about a “dc” adapter.. but the top of my vintage mistress clearly reads “AC” ..
What’s up with that?
tip positive, 18 volts, that’s all i know,.. so would i have to choose ac or dc?
Cheers,
Anthony
