Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Vintage LPB-1: No Sound When Boost Mode Is Off!!
I’ve got an old LPB-1 and there’s no sound when the boost mode is off. but when the boost is on its perfectly fine. I’ve tried shoving the cable in more and then it sort of works. i’ve tried different cables and it still does this so its not the cable, so i think it might be the jack, but i’m not sure.
someone please help!
If it works when the boost is on, then your jacks are good. I’d say the problem is in the switch. It’s probably in need of a good cleaning. Spray some contact cleaner in the switch then work the switch back and forth several times. See if that clears it up.
If it was me, I’d disassemble the switch and clean it.
I tried plugging it in before and it ended up working fine. I don’t know how that happened, but i guess thats good. And i ended up cleaning it becuase it probably needed to be cleaned anyway.
I think i figured out why it didn’t work and then it just started to. It might have been becuase i havent used it for a few weeks before so the switch could have been stuck a little or something like that. and when i started to move the switch again, i guess it fixed it.
