I need advice regarding an old clone theory pedal someone gave me. I would like to get it to work but it is very noisy when it is on, and makes a screeching/screaming noise. It almost sounds like r2-d2 when I turn the knobs back and forth. I opened it up and there doesn’t seem to be anything loose as far as I can tell. Does anyone know what could cause this?
Hard to say with certainty without having it in hand to test, could just be a loose solder joint but it probably needs the electrolytic & tantalum capacitors replacing at this point in its life, their failure in several places in the circuit could lead to the described symptoms.
