I think we had another thread here going for these but I could not find it. I specifically collect old EHX ads with Big Muffs. Here are a few recent ones I have found. Images may be a bit large to display on your browser page so you may have to copy them to your desktop to view the whole thing.
Ron, any idea what year this first ad would have bee made? Based on the other pedals in the ad I guestimated 1971, but I’m not exactly sure of the release dates. This is the V1 Muff without the separate on off switch on the front, so that’s from late ’69-early ’70. They probably never updated the marketing photo when the second edition came out with the switch on top.
The V2 Muff ad is from December 1975, and the V3 Muff ad is from December 1976. The second ad with the V3 is February ’77, and I think that was already posted here somewhere.
July 5, 2010 at 9:49 pm #110005The EH ManModerator’72 is probably as good a guess as any. It’s got the pot-mounted on/off switch and the address is 15 W. 26th St, which is EH’s 2nd address.
July 20, 2010 at 12:42 pm #110360KitraeMemberRon, do you know the year E-H moved to that second address? And what the first address was?
July 20, 2010 at 12:46 pm #110361The EH ManModeratorNo idea when they moved. The first address was 1204 Broadway, New York, NY, 10001
July 20, 2010 at 1:01 pm #110363KitraeMemberAnd they were at the West 23rd address until ’82 or so, when the first bankruptcy happened? All the advertisements seem to indicate this. Do you know what the post bankruptcy address was?
July 20, 2010 at 1:07 pm #110364The EH ManModeratorI think they were at the 23rd St address until ’83. There was also a time when the assets were owned by Broadway Computer Corp., but I don’t have their address on hand.
July 20, 2010 at 1:17 pm #110366KitraeMemberThanks Ron. You are the man.

August 5, 2010 at 9:42 am #110706The EH ManModeratorFrom the auctions:
All of the beautiful images we sell are vibrant, colorful Giclee Prints. Giclee printing is a sophisticated process utilizing
high resolution printers and bright, vivid archival inks printed on heavy weight, museum quality paper.
The Giclee process is known not only for it’s longevity, but it also captures the brilliant look and exceptional high resolution detail of the original work. So, they’re reprints.
August 17, 2010 at 11:59 am #110921KitraeMemberHere is another one of those EHX ad posters being sold on ebay. They are just small magazine ads blown up to mini poster size.
This one looks to be from around 1977-78. The Electric Mistress, and both Howard Davis’ Deluxe Electic Mistress and Deluxe Big Muff are on there. I like Mike’s sense of humor in the Mistress headline
August 17, 2010 at 12:21 pm #110922The EH ManModeratorHoward’s not responsible for the Deluxe Big Muff. That’s Michael Abram’s baby.
August 17, 2010 at 12:37 pm #110923KitraeMemberNot according to Howard. What’s the story there?
August 17, 2010 at 12:47 pm #110924The EH ManModeratorQuote:Not according to Howard. What’s the story there? He might’ve done the redesign when they changed the Blend switch to Series/Parallel, but my factory schematic for the Blend version has “MA” on it. Abram is also responsible for the Echoflanger.
