Hi everyone and thank you in advance! My beloved DMM just failed and I was hoping I might gain some insight on whether it is repairable and who a good person to have repair would be. Here are all the details of what is happening:

The last time I played it I noticed the repeats had some unusual distortion. I can remember much more than that it was subtle but alarming. The next time I attempted to use it, the delay, chorus, and vibrato had stopped working. The pedal powers on fine. When I engaged the foot switch, there is a very loud pop… every time. When I adjust the “level” and “blend’ controls, I get clean signal coming through and can reduce it to silence if I turn the level all the way down or the “blend” all the way up. Adjusting the “feedback”, Chorus-vibrato”, and “delay” control have not affect on the clean sound coming through. Toggling the Chorus-vibrato switch on the top of the pedal has no affect either. Interestingly, the “overload” LED lights up and is responsive to how hard I play. However, if I turned the feedback all the way up, I was not able to keep the “overload” light lit up. It was hard to tell if it pulsed at different speeds when adjusting the “delay” control. I’d say it probably was not changing how the “overload” LED was lighting up. I’m using the EHX US24DC-100 power supply to power the pedal.

I don’t know the first thing about electrical engineering, so I’m hoping someone can help me narrow down what might be the issue and point me in the right direction to have it fixed. I love this delay and would hate to see it die for good.

    Thanks everyone!

I’m sure it’s quite fixable, you say you’re using a 24DC supply so I take it this is a big box reissue, I would have thought EHX can still repair these if you contact them, if not, try contacting The EH Man on the forum. I’d offer but if you’re using a US supply you probably don’t want to ship to the UK :)

It’s impossible to make an informed diagnosis from that information, I could take some guesses but it needs to be properly debugged.
