Anyone here own one?
Mine is REALLY bit crushed. Like extremely. Having never seen another vintage one, nor having heard good clips of one not smeared with other effects it is hard to tell if there is a issue with mine. So I ask, how distorted is your repeats if you do own one.

It sounds pretty spankin to me :rawk:

Pretty nice! I would definitely use
November 21, 2008 at 2:10 pm #87568The EH ManModeratorThe repeats are not as clean as on the reissue. The reissue has an ultra-clean repeat.

It far far far dirtier then my other delays from that time period [couple digitech racks, pds8000, etc]. It sound more like my PDS20/20 that I’ve adjusted the trims on. Actually it sounds JUST like it.
Does this sound broken to you? Do you know anyone who could referb it for me? Does anyone?

The only person I’ve found that could do any work on these is CJ Landry. I’ll PM his email to you.

Thank you very much! I really wanna hear what this thing sounds like at 100%. I got a very good deal on it so I don’t mind dumping money into having it fixed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in6bHuZo964here’s a couple of the original Peter Stroud EHX demo videos, it was a very cool pedal with elements of some of the pedals ehx make now like the 2880 looper, SMM Hazari, etc.

November 29, 2010 at 3:52 am #112795eborejMemberI’ve had this one since the 80’s:
I haven’t posted any recordings of it online although the YouTube demo of it by Nels Cline provides decent audio of the longest delay of 16 second repeats. The repeats are clear with a setting of about 1 second and get progressively lo-fi the longer the delay setting beyond 1 second.
There are two circuit boards inside stacked on top of each other and connected via a bus connector. The first board doesn’t have any trim pots and mostly covered with IC chips. I haven’t taken the second board out so I’m not sure if it has trim pots. Otherwise I’m not sure if it can be calibrated.
November 29, 2010 at 11:45 am #112802The EH ManModeratorI wouldn’t open it up and try. You might contact CJ Landry at cjlectronics and ask him about it.
