I bought my Big Muff in Feb of ’07 from GC but the circuit board is labeled EC3003-A, which according http://www.kitrae.net/music/big_muff_history3.html is the ’00 model board. Is it possible that the circuit board is from ’00 but has ’07 components on it? How can i tell if it’s true bypass and what type of diodes(regular silicon or Schottky) it has?
Nope, its the 2000 model!
In 2007 there was a new model but it didnt last long and was revised again in 2008. If you go out and buy one now, you will more than likely get the 2008 version. I suppose stores that are slow to move stock would have the 2000 model still instock.
You can tell if its the 2008 model as it has a red water clear type LED, not a red diffused LED like the 2000 model.
Incidentally, the 2008model sounds sick..I love the 2000 model but the 20008 sounds even better to me.
If it has the blue switch with 9 lugs and wires to 8 of them lugs its TB.
If it has blue diodes with a black stripe on them they are schottkys.
