    Hi to the forum!

I am keyboarder and bought the V256 to get my Korg Kronos a better Vocoder-Sound.

    Here the connections I made:
On the input side of the V265 I connected a Sennheiser condenser headset (XLR) and one individual output from my Kronos (1/4″).
On the output side I connected both outputs (XLR + 1/4″) with the two analog inputs of my Kronos.
Both signals are passing through fine.
Midi on channel 16 is also connected and working.

I read the manual several times but have to admit to not fully understand this unit yet. Some functions seem to be hidden.
Especially the different functions of the (pressed) Blend-Knob for leveling.

Today I had the problem that I couldn’t mute the internal Synth, although the Pitch_Knob was fully CCW. It was always sounding.
Per accident I found out that I can level and mute the internal synth with adjusting the blend-knob while bypass is being pressed. I couldn’t find this in the manual. Can I find anywhere a better explaining of this “hidden” functions?

Another question: I bought this unit second hand and I thought it would be a good idea to perform a factory-reset. Can this be done by the user and how is the procedure?

    Best regards,
    Robert

Normally BLEND sets the wet/dry mix at the XLR output connector where wet is the effect and dry is the microphone input.

When you hold down the BYPASS footswitch and turn the BLEND knob, BLEND adjusts the wet/dry mix at the 1/4″ INST output rather than the XLR output where wet is the effect and dry is signal at the INST IN jack.

Thank you for clarifying this, very helpful!

There is still the question why the internal synth was always active and why I was able to mute it with the Blend-Knob. Undocumented feature?
Maybe my Kronos send a CC7 Volume Control message. Maybe a good step will be to explore the possible Midi Control Change messages further.

When you heard the internal synth, was it heard at the INST output or the XLR output?

Sorry, I can’t remember on which output it was. First I was afraid that my device could have a malfunction, so I tried a lot of things without much of thinking :)
If it happens again I will check that!

One question I have regarding the wet/dry mix on the 1/4″: is this setting stored globally or per mode/preset?

The Wet/Dry mix on the 1/4″ is a global setting but it is also saved with your presets.

For example, you can save a few presets where 1/4″ Wet/Dry is set to fully dry, some presets where 1/4″ wet/dry is 50% and some presets where 1/4″ wet/dry is fully wet.
