Does anyone have any idea why the Big Muff USA pic on EHX’s site has different knobs?
Very few online retailers use the pic with the “pointer” knobs instead of the round or “puck” knobs
as i call them. Are the pointer knobs on the 2009 Muffs or something?January 9, 2009 at 10:34 am #90352electro-melxModeratorNo, I think EHX uses all ‘puck’ knobs now. Both have been used on and off over the years…..the pointer knobs fit on ‘D’ shaped shafts and the ‘Puck’ knobs fit on spilt shafts, so it’s probably down to what pots ehx are using at the time more than anything.

Ive never seen them in a store or on ebay.well that’s my theory! when EHX first reissued their pedals they all had the pointer knobs (there are lots of early 90’s muffs with pointer knobs and I’ve just bought a DR.Q RI with a pointer) that’s why a lot of the ‘stock’ pictures have them….. but more recently they have been using the ‘pucks’ 100% and I presume they will stick with those now. The early RI’s weren’t true bypass either because they had a ‘vintage’ type footswitch.

January 11, 2009 at 4:46 pm #90435electro-melxModeratorI just pulled the knob off my DR.Q and found that it doesn’t have a d-shaped spindle on the pot, so I’m afraid my theory is wrong!!
hang on, so you just want pointer knobs?
where are you in the world?
if you are in the UK/EU you can order Davies pointers from here (for a round shaft)

they look the same as the ehx ones.

if you are in the USA or somewhere else, google ‘Davies pointer knob’ and you should find some.
