Hey guys!
I’ve been looking all over the place (google searches and forum searches) and I haven’t really found an answer to my question, so I thought I’d ask directly. One of my good friends decided to look for and buy me an English Muff’n as a Christmas gift; he lives in the US (where I am originally from). He got the US pedal with a US power supply.
However, I live in the UK and I know that the voltage over here is different so I have been attempting to look for the proper UK power supply (UK12AC-1000) so that I can use my US English Muff’n here without blowing out a socket or even damaging the pedal.
The question/problem relates to the input plug. I have found the pedal here:
http://www.hotroxuk.com/uk12ac-1000-power-supply-uk.html
And here
The problem is, the picture of the plug in the first link appears to have a different input that goes into the pedal. My pedal requires a T-shape input jack (pronged? I don’t know the technical term for it).
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Electro-Harmonix-US12AC-1000-Power-Adapter-101873883-i1129071.gc <- That's what I mean. The plug in the first link appears to have a rounded input and I can’t see the input jack on the one in the second link. So, my question is whether or not the UKAC12-1000s that I have links to will have the same plug-in that I require for my US one (The sort of pronged plugin). Sorry if this is a loaded question and thanks for any answers you can give. Cheers,

I’ll email to be safe, but I just wanted to be sure I wasn’t buying something that was incompatible with the pedal. When I was home for Christmas, I absolutely loved the sound the English Muff’n produced, so it’d be a shame if I couldn’t use it over here.
Thanks for the quick reply!

the HotRox pic, if you look closer at the upper of the (mirrored) plug-images
shows that it indeed has a flat and a round pin…Those 2-pole “DIN” plugs/jacks were/are being used for speaker-connections in HiFi-equipment
and car-radios in Germany since the `60s…
They belong to the “DIN”-family of connectors that also provides the standard
“MIDI” connectors…http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIN-Stecker
E-H uses those plugs to prevent the user from plugging in
a DC supply by accident…January 13, 2013 at 6:33 pm #118655CBowlingParticipantGotcha! Thank you for the information! My friend and I were curious as to why they used that sort of plug, so that makes much more sense. Ordered one of the new adapters so hopefully I’ll be playing the English Muff’n sometime within the next week!
Cheers!
