Hi
I use a digitech whammy for my octave effects but I’m annoyed that it isn’t polyphonic.
I’m thinking of swapping it out of my board and replacing it whith the HOG as I’ve heard you can use it as a whammy as well as all the other cool features it will bring to my board. My question is does it do as satisfactory job of the ‘whammy’ effect as the digitech?
Also have I got it right that you can use the expression pedal as a volume pedal when in the correct mode?
cheers

Yeah, you can use it as a whammy in “octave bend mode.” It won’t do 2 octave bends if you find those really important to you. I have a HOG and I really love the octave bend mode. You can use it with the voices, or you can just use it with the original octave- which gets the typical whammy type thing going. There’s also a dry slider, so you can do a wet/dry mix without needing an external blend knob, which is very useful. You can use it as a volume pedal in volume mode.
Also, another nice thing is that it runs on DC power instead of AC power. It draws a lot of current, so it shouldn’t be daisy chained with other pedals, but it should work well with power supplies with high current isolated 9v outputs, where with the whammy you need to still use a wall wart.
cheers that’s given me alot to think about
I probably will upgrade as it has all the features I could want but I’ll have to save up a bit of cash first me thinks
cheers again
