Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › UK PSU compatiable with the HOG? / Hog PSU users w/spec info?
I’ve noticed the Hog’s 9v PSU runs at 500mA compared to a normal average of 200mA. I’ve seen afew PSU’s at electronic stores here in the UK which will cover the mA rating, but some are ‘unregulated’. is this a major issue? Also what kind of size/type tip does it have?
Hog PSU users; see edit in post below!
It’s got a reverse polarity tip. Same size as the line 6 connector for their modeler pedals.
I don’t think you want unregulated though, that would cause some fluctuations in voltage, which I don’t think would be ideal.
I run my HOG off 250ma from my PP2+ with the reverse polarity (center positive cable) supplied with it.
Thanks. I was just about to buy an unregulated one with various tip adaptors! I’ll have a little look around for regulated. Hopefully the tip compatibilty won’t be an issue or I’ll have to try the regulated one since I have a Hog coming in the post from America!
EDIT: What type of tip/barrel does the Hog supply have? Anyone got the measurements? That would be a help! And if anyone uses the ‘official’ Hog PSU the info on the lable would be much appreciated too!

like the red tipped ones they’ve got here
Excellent, thanks.
