What pedals haven’t you tried FUZZ?
I am afraid to say, the HOG and POG. I liked the Mocro Pog so much, I never tried the original. And also the Stereo Polyphase.
This place allows you to grab a box and run it through some old Sovtek Tube Amps. Remember the Migs?
The HOG and POG are wonderful. I love them.
The stereo polyphase’s slow envelope mode is really cool. Someone asking me about it made me break it out.February 11, 2009 at 6:19 pm #93099andtreaParticipantHello to everyone from an italian EHX lover (so please forgive my english)!
I’m seriously gasing for the tube zipper, and I like the sound from all the demo I’ve heard, but I still have a doubt.
I owned an English Muff’n, that I used to like at low gain settings, but at least got to sold, because it was incredibly BRIGHT. I used to set the highs near to zero.My setup (Jazzmaster + Bassman ’59 ltd) is not so dark, ok, but I have tried several distortion pedals and none of those were so harsh. I also tried to swap the tubes with 12 ay7 without improvements.
Thinking to its same tubes engine, is the Tube Zipper “distortion side” also so bright?
February 11, 2009 at 6:25 pm #93101electro-melxModeratorcheck out this thread, there’s a good sound demo there too.

it has been advertised as: “maze” once, though…
and: yep, one of the first 5 production pedals did have printing on the side…
(dunno `bout the current ones…)oh, yes, and it did come in a russian pinewood slidetopbox!
Interesting! So you don’t remember any being screened ‘tube maze’ either? Plot thickens!
When I was at EHX, my guide (forgot his name ) showed me a silk screen with “Tube Maze” I don’t think there was “Tube Zipper” on it, it was stored on a shelf under the name Tube Maze as well.
When he noticed what it was he put it away and said something like “you’re probably not supposed to see this”, because he thought it could be something new (so I couldn’t take a picture), while he just wanted to show an example of one of those screens.
Maybe the Zipper was called Tube Maze before it was called Zipper and still had “Tube Maze” as a subtitle after the name changed?
Can one of the EHX employees here (Fuzz, Scott,…?) have a look at that silk screen? It was in the room with all the screens: shelves on the right, then on the right side of the bottom shelf.

A solid state pedal be called a “Tube” Maze? I suppose the Hot “Tubes” was solid state before, so maybe it’s not such a stretch.
July 8, 2009 at 7:49 pm #99049julianModeratorhaha, I just realized that

No, the size, shape, knob and tube positions (no print) of the tube pedals matched with this print…
July 8, 2009 at 10:24 pm #99062julianModeratoroh ok
maybe it’s a new tube pedal
October 29, 2015 at 2:35 am #120970companymanParticipantI have a Tube Zipper that came in the wooden box that says Tube Maze on it, also has the screen on the side of the pedal. Is this different than other’s?

October 29, 2015 at 6:51 pm #120974companymanParticipantSo Puretube says the first 5 production Pedals were called Tube Maze?
