Anyone else think that a tube driven ‘verb from EHX would be a good idea? How about a tube driven tape echo that isn’t as hideously overpriced as the Fulltone? I think EHX could accomplish both of these very well. Any other thoughts?

I could get behind either honestly.
I love recording vocals through Fender amps with some spring reverb.
December 20, 2008 at 1:27 pm #89291tubezipperModeratorThis is a fantastic idea!
I really need a reverb of sorts.
If they could do this with tubes and have the great spring the Fender Reverb tank has, plus many added features. *Reverse reverb* *cough*
December 20, 2008 at 2:58 pm #89294McSpunckleMemberI’d be first in line for a real tape echo! I don’t even care if it has tubes.
A good, inexpensive reverse delay would be cool too. I know about the Hazarai Memory Man.. I mean something like the #1 Echo, but backwards.
… let the tube echo run backwards.
Sorry… getting excited.

i’d buy it in an instanttape echo? no way. that’s gonna be VERY expensive. not even EHX can cut down the price to something reasonable compared to the fulltone one. the DMM works just fine imo.
December 20, 2008 at 8:15 pm #89309CostchParticipantI was thinking, maybe it would be possible for EHX to make a “mini” Tape Echo of sorts. I don’t know how small these can be made, but that could help cut costs. There should be some competition in the whole TTE segment, Fulltone is the only current manufacturer I am aware of. A cheap reverse delay would be cool though (is it even possible for an analog delay to be reversed?)
December 20, 2008 at 8:21 pm #89310Ned FlandersModeratorI pretty much think Fender makes the best tube/spring reverb so they would have a lot to live up to IMO. I’m not sure it would be worth it really as the Fender unit is as good as reverb gets IMO.
December 20, 2008 at 11:18 pm #89331julianModeratorif it’s smaller and more affordable and built into a pedal enclosure maybe it would be good.
December 20, 2008 at 11:44 pm #89333Ned FlandersModeratorThe holy grail is pretty convincing reverb IMO. But, if you want analog tube spring reverb the units are gonna be big.

I’m afraid that’s a little to specific for a single pedal, but I hope I’m wrong. It would be quite awesome.

One option is the EP-pre (http://www.clinchfx.com/ep-pre) into a DL-4 tape echo setting to get the EP preamp, which is part of what makes the echoplex sound so good anyway, and the wobbly delay. Or just stick with a DMM, it’s a lot less hassle than a tape echo.

I would never buy either of these two pedals anyways, so I don’t care if they get made or not.

No reason to stop suggesting stuff. I feel that my board is near done, but I’ll still suggest stuff that I think would be cool. Even if I wasn’t sure I’d buy it if it actually came out.

Yeah, you’re right (you’re always right, and that isn’t snide sarcasm, I mean it, you are my personal jesus/morgan freeman I suppose). I just can’t think of anything that hasn’t been suggested before. How about a pedal that makes your guitar sound like a sitar/mandolin/banjo/any other stringed instrument. Call it the “Heart Strings multiple instrument modeler” or something cool. Dunno if I’d buy it, but it hasn’t been done before (not including those stupid “synth” pickup things with all of the different sounds). How’s that sound Mr. Freeman?
