Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Tone Suck through FX loop
Hello,
I am looking for a solution to a problem I am having running my EH pedals through the FX loop on my amp, any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am running a Mesa Mark V, with a Big muff in line with the guitar, so I figure that’s not the problem, in the loop I have, in order:
Send
Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazerai
Small stone
Flanger hoax
2880
Receive
The tone is degraded when I have the loop switched on, the level drops a bit and gets distorted. Any ideas?
Thanks,
JBN
have you tried puttin individual pedals through the loop one at a time to try and isolate which is causing the problem? i’ve had this trouble in the past and it’s usually one pedal or a dodgy lead causing the problem.
hope you can get this sorted!
cheers,
Matt
Thanks Matt,
I’ll give that a shot and post back. Do you think it could possibly be the loop itself? I might try running them all up front and see how much the signal is degraded that way. Maybe get myself a buffer as well.
I’d try contacting Mesa Boogie for advice.
With FX loops in amps, there is no standard, and many can be a little finnicky.
