As long as the total current draw of all the pedals is below 250mA, it should be fine. For those three pedals, the total draw is 227 mA, probably wouldn’t be a good idea to add anything else to that particular power port.

Is the older big box version of the Multiplexer the same 11 mA as the newer version? I’m trying to work 15 pedals on one board (yes I’m a pedal junkie) and wanting to give my self room in the mA department on all outputs(PP2) as to not overload anything. Do mA rates ever change or should I say spike above the normal rates? I’m trying to give myself at least 20-30mA’s per outlet to spare. Thats a little closer than the normal 9v wall worts(ehx,boss,dunlop,etc) safety range(200mA average). Thanks again

Current draw could change, for example it is higher when the LED is lit vs. bypass mode. When we give current ratings we do try to give the maximum steady state current draw. Usually there is a small current spike when a pedal is first power up.
It’s definitely a good idea to give each power outlet a little extra room, 20-30 mA sounds pretty fair.

You can run at lower current and/or lower voltage (I think down to 12VDC) but its peak output power will also be reduced below 22W.

One note of warning: if you are using a power supply that can’t supply enough current, the 22 Caliber will still try to draw as much current as it can get, this could potentially damage the power supply.
February 11, 2012 at 6:54 pm #116797compassionwolfParticipantHave a look also for all these power supply issues at the CIOKS power supplies (manufactured in Denmark) – DC 10, Power Bitch, Pussy Power etc, many models have isolated outputs, a range of voltages from 9V to 40V, and most models are designed for specific pedals or combos of pedals such as EHX. For example I can run my 24V EHX pedal off 2 x 12V isolated outlets using a 2-into-one series flex with positive center 2.5mm plug which comes with the bundle of flexes included with the power supply. I can also run higher draw (say 170mA) 9V pedals with 2-into-one parallel flexes off 2 100mA outlets. OR I can just plug high draw pedals into some of the higher current single flex 9V (standard center negative) outlets (300-400mA) which some of the models have. Hope that’s some help.

The circuit has a voltage regulator that keep the voltage the same whether you put 18V or 9v into it. 18v will put excess stress on the regulator and could cause failure.
