April 29, 2009 at 5:26 am #96169tomsoyaMemberDoes anyone know for sure if this is going to be an analog delay?
The stereo electric mistress is a cheaper digital version of the deluxe electric mistress.
Could the memory boy be a digital version of the memory man?

I would guess that it’s analog, given that the #1 echo is already a smaller digital delay, and the SMMW/H is already a larger digital delay.
I’m eager to know more details, because from what has been speculated I’d be thrilled to buy it.

May 10, 2009 at 6:26 am #96563CostchParticipantIt would jive quite well if the Enigma and Riddle turn out to be the long awaited wah pedals that I hope they are. Then I could have an all EHX board (except for a tuner, but I don’t include that since it doesn’t alter my sound).

Personally, I can’t wait. Analog delay is my favorite effect ever, and I REALLY don’t like MXR. Bad vibes. So lets hope that the Memory Boy is affordable…

I don’t have the cash for a vintage crying tone or talking pedal, and I don’t really like the aspect of having two pedals for one effect, if you know what I mean.
May 12, 2009 at 12:10 pm #96619WatsonWoodMemberI understand the cash aspect only too well! However, one must remember that an auto-wah of whichever ilk and however sensitive to playing dynamics it may be, is basically a non-starter in terms of truly individual wah expression which is offered by the Crying Tone. Believe me, by the time one finishes twiddling the buttons and checking out the dynamics, the input sensitivity and various other parameters necessary to get a decent sound from any wah filter (however cheap or expensive) the Crying Tone player has completed at least four numbers, all with completely different EQ, sounds and dynamics, and is moving on to the fifth and last number of the set. And the wah’s treadle is the “expression pedal”.
And if the vintage Crying Tones are too expensive it is sometimes possible to pick up a cheap three EQ Cry Baby. It is not the same but a good start….July 18, 2009 at 3:10 pm #99634229somedayParticipantNow available for pre-order:
