unless EHX can build a compact ‘time and space bender’ that distorts the time perception of the person listing therefore sounds appear to happen before you actually play them.
….I have a feeling that might be someway off though!!!
June 12, 2009 at 3:48 pm #97802julianModeratorAnd that it might cause cancer.
Also, if we’re bending time and space, that means we’ve created a gravity field too, so it might make the audience start sliding closer to you.

technically the flanger hoax is moving into the future as well when it’s on a TZF settingJune 12, 2009 at 6:23 pm #97810julianModeratorTZF is a bit different, because the time intervals are so small, they can simulate it by having two delay lines without having a sizeable latency on your playing I think. It’s not really going into the future on either pedal. Pre-delay and preverb work with much bigger intervals
June 12, 2009 at 8:03 pm #97819ChumleyParticipantSimple. We just need an Infinite Improbability Drive. Although that could have some… tracking problems…
The tubes of tomorrow: improbability drive technology.
June 12, 2009 at 8:08 pm #97821electro-melxModeratorI did say “almost anything is possible” lets not get carried away here!!
obviously some things aren’t possible now, but who knows what might be possible? EHX are always bringing out stuff that I never thought i’d see in a compact pedal.

Somehow I don’t know if I’d like to feel like a couch.
June 13, 2009 at 5:27 pm #97854ChumleyParticipantMy friend, I have read and reread the Hitchhikers series more times than is actually physically possible, and I don’t get that reference… The closest thing is the eddies in the space time continuum, which caused a couch to appear on prehistoric Earth, but I don’t think that involved turning INTO said couch.
Or maybe I should reread So Long and Thanks For All the Fish…
Again…
June 13, 2009 at 5:38 pm #97856julianModeratorThat’s because I was referring to the movie, when Arthur first experiences an improbability drive jump, he and Ford turn into couches. Such a vivid image to me, that it was the first one I thought of. The movie has things drawn from all the books and the radio series, although the plot is from the first book.
Of the books I’ve only read The Restaurant. Which was hilarious. I particularly loved the revelation that humans are a bunch of middlemen that were tricked into abandoning their planet, and that the man who controls the universe is someone who follows Cogito Ergo Sum to a tee, so much so that he looks like an idiot.

READ. THE. BOOKS.
They changed my life. I’m not kidding. At all.June 16, 2009 at 8:05 pm #97973julianModeratorWell I’ve read one.
I’ve got other books to read. I’ve been on a bit of a PKD thing for awhile, and now I’m trying to read my Dostoevsky’s that I’ve never finished- Possessed and House of the Dead
June 16, 2009 at 9:12 pm #97975ChumleyParticipantHitchikers is more important.
June 26, 2009 at 9:40 pm #98463WatsonWoodMemberWell, the Freezer seems to have already created its own continuum, despite the fact that it has not yet been built!
June 26, 2009 at 11:31 pm #98471ghostMemberI have a REQUEST:
Can someone with a HOG post some sound samples of the Freezing function in action? I would be really grateful! Since I haven’t touched a HOG since the week it was released, I’ve forgotten how it actually sounds! If I remember correctly it’s just an organ-like tone matching your last input?
Sound sample please
June 26, 2009 at 11:40 pm #98473ghostMemberOK at the one minute mark there’s a good example. Watching this I’m doubting this is going to economically make any sense as a stand alone unit. Not saying I would LOVE one, but it seems like it would require too much of the HOGS guts to pull of, and not just include the other features….
