Hello agean Scott and all others!

ive waited so long to get a hold of one of the EHX “The Silencer” noise gate pedals.

i finaly got one and alas its broken, but not to far gone.

i want to use AC power but it only works with battery power.

and there also seems to be a short sum where that drains the battery rapidly almost instantly.

other than that is seems the board works fine when i can get it to work. its obviosly who ever had it before me massacred the wireing. and the slide switch needs to be replaced (cuts signal in and out when jiggled).

well i purchased all replacement parts needed to repair the box (foot switch, slide switch, 1/4 jacks, and 1/8 jack, battery connector) all i need is a schematic or wireing diagram to repare it. but i cant find anything online. any help here??

ok this was my second ever post….and i still haven’t fixed this unit, i even purchased another one on ebay for twice the price i payed in first place! and it wasn’t much help ether. fixed/replaced the switch, but i still cant use the AC jack, at the moment i have one of those 9v battery adapters hooked up to it, then into my AC unit, so at-least it works that way…..but it don’t work well, on ether unit i have, the sound when the gate is engaged, “crackles” the signal in and out…..i assume that’s just because this is a vintage unit, and back then that was the best you were going to get….am i wrong?

I have a silencer with the same problem. Without a battery in it is completely silent and dead. I’m going to get it serviced. I think it needs a few components replaced. I know a good amp/pedal repair guy with respect of vintage gear, he should work wonders. I hope. Did you have any luck with it man???
