Hey there!
I bought a Super Pulsar a while ago, and I’m having problems syncing it to my DAW (Reaper). I’ve read all the available forum posts, and I see a lot of people are syncing it via a clock pedal (the Selah Quartz for example).
My question is: is it possible to sync the Super Pulsar straight into my DAW without buying a clock pedal / other midi controller?
Referring the manual:
I can’t really understand what that means in practice. I’ve tried changing the Pulsar to External Clock Mode and routing a click track to the pedal via my interface’s audio output (Akai EIE Pro). That’s how I thought it would work.
Any help is much appreciated!
Some people have had luck syncing the Super Pulsar to a DAW but it may depend on your audio interface. Basically you need your DAW and audio interface to produce the loudest and simplest possible clock waveform. A click track may work fine.
You might have to make adjustments in your audio interface’s settings so that it puts out the loudest signal possible. Some interfaces are set up for -10dBV by default, you want to set the output for the more professional +4dBu. Also make sure you’re using a TS cable for this scenario.
You did the right thing by changing the Super Pulsar to External Clock Mode, which is necessary for external clock sync to work properly.
