Just got my Wiggler and love it. But I notice that when I turn the volume up, it adds distortion. I suppose that is normal for a tube driven pedal like this.
If I want to clean things up can I substitute any pramp tube? I was thinking of putting a 12AU7 in there, which has like 1/5 the gain of a 12AX7…would that work ok but still give enough gain to get the nice sound from the pedal??

This is a great reference for tube substitutions. You can click on the tubes and see which ones are most suitable and their gain factors, good luck! I would probably try a 12AT7, 12AY7, or a 5751 because the AU7 will be such a drastic difference.
yeah I have actually already looked at that site. that is what made me want to put in 12AU7s.
Has anyone put 12AT7 or 12AY7s in their wiggler?
ooops – did I reply the wrong thing in the wrong thread?
