My friends Superego broke recently, the toggle switch broke.

He asked me to see if I could repair it. I managed to do a quick repair on the switch, reassembling it and pinching it back together.

Once it was working again I spotted the LED was dead. I touched a new LED to the contacts and it lit fine. Today I came to replace the switch and LED I noticed the LED was always on and never switching off.

I replaced the switch and LED fine, but now it’s permanently lit. Any ideas why this might happen?! I don’t have a schematic, so not sure where to start.
