I’m having the same problem. Unit essentially freezes up and unplugging it is the only thing that works. I’m using The Brick power supply. Would love some sort of fix.

    Hello:

I’m experiencing the same issue and it’s very troublesome, especially live…

EHX, is there a fix for this problem? Are you accepting returns on these units?

    Please advise, thank you.

Peter, contact EHX thru their repair division at Sovtek.com. I sent my pedal back to them, and they repaired it already… It works great now!

    Good luck.

I’m having the same problem. After 20-30 minutes it freezes completely and the only solution is to disconnect the power supply and reconnect. I live in Bogota Colombia and I bought it through Ebay. I would like to know if there is any solution or if there is an authorized repair center in Colombia since sending it back to the US is very expensive from my country. I would be grateful if anyone could solve this terrible problem.

Good Morning. It may not be a great discovery for anyone but I would like to tell you about my experience of the last days. After incessant freezing and crash, I decided to reset the pedal to its factory settings (pedal disconnected, hold down both the “wave invert” and “tap split” buttons while connecting the power cable, a few seconds later when the lights Ascending and descending will have returned to its factory state). After this it has remained on for hours without re-freezing. I left it on while I work and every now and then change settings and buttons and so far there are no bugs. I will continue to test and tell my experiences. My English is very bad and I am helping through google translate, so I apologize for errors in my speech.

I just noticed the same thing.

    @sebastianromero

Hi, do you have to reset the pedal only once or every time you are starting it to get rid of the malfunction? I cannot test it because I sent mine back to the seller (money back). If resetting helps I probably would buy this pedal again.

    Hi,

Has anybody gotten a response from EHX regarding this problem? I’m having the same and I emailed EHX. Just wondering in the meantime if anybody has an update.

    Thanks

    Having the same problem.

Edit: I tried the factory reset as mentioned above and encountered a new problem.

    Settings:

-I have the xRATE button off (unlit). Rate knob is all the way left. If I tap in a tempo and move the rate knob to the right it immediately slows it down. It needs to be set all the way to right to get my original tap tempo.
-Edit #3 – After more testing, turning the rate knob all the way to the right doesn’t bring back your original tempo. It’s buggy in the same way as the dimly lit position.

-With the xRate button dimly lit. Rate knob all the way left. If I tap a tempo in this mode and turn the rate knob it again changes the tempo to the point where you can’t find you’re original tempo. Finding your original tempo on the rate knob will depend on the speed of the tempo you tapped in. Hard to explain in words, hope that made sense.

-With the xRATE button brightly lit everything is working as normal. Rate knob set all the way left. If I turn the rate knob all the way right and then back all the way left I have my original tempo.

    Edit #2 Another problem.

-I’m using two amps in stereo. Wave knob set to square (The pattern that alternates 4 lights on/4 lights off), Shape knob at 12 o clock. If I put the pulsar at the end of my guitar chain the RT. Phase knob stops working at 180 degrees, I can hear the rate knob working when I turn it. Just not alternating between speakers like it should. Signal plays like it’s in bypass mode. Works normally at 0 and 360.

-I’m using a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power plus 2 isolated power supply. 9v, max current 250mA. I’ve also tried using the Power supply provided by EHX, same problems.

While writing this it stopped working again like what was described in the original post on page 1. So I assume the factory reset doesn’t solve the problem. Anyone have an extra Xanax?

Help… I sent an email, but no response. I’ll send another one with this new problem.

I hope I’m able to answer all the questions you’ve raised in your post. Let me know if I miss anything.

    – TAP TEMPO & RATE Knob: If you tap in a tempo to set the tremolo rate, and then move the RATE knob, the RATE knob’s setting supersedes your tap tempo and your tap tempo is erased. So in all those circumstances where you tapped in a tempo and then moved the RATE knob, as soon as you moved RATE your tapped tempo was gone. It’s not a bug but the way the unit works.

    – TWO AMPS & RT. PHASE Knob: Just curious is your set up Stereo IN or Mono IN? This sounds like a Stereo IN to Stereo OUT setup. What’s going on is when RT. PHASE is set to the 180 position an equal amount of Left In is switched between the Left and Right Out jacks. Vice versa is true for the right input. What ends up happening, particularly when using the square wave, is that both inputs switch back and forth between the two outputs, if you have nearly the same signal at both of the Super Pulsar’s input jacks then it will sound like the Super Pulsar is not doing any thing because it is switching the same input signal back and forth to the left/right outputs.

    – The freeze problem has been a tough one to solve. It appears we received some percentage of bad processors that reset on their own if the unit starts out cold and then heats up over time while it is powered. Try again with info@ehx.com and we can look into setting up a repair.

Thx so much for the fast reply!

I haven’t had much time so I didn’t realize that’s how the xRATE function worked. The brightly lit setting works how I want so that’s np.

The pedal chain I was trying was guitar->tuner->compressor->(mono in) delay (stereo out)->(stereo in) Super Pulsar (stereo out)->amps.

(mono in) delay (*mono out)->(*mono in) Super Pulsar (stereo out) fixes the 180 RT Phase knob problem at the loss of stereo delay.

guitar->tuner->compressor->(mono in) *Super Pulsar (stereo out)->(stereo in) *delay (stereo out)->amps. This setup allows both stereo tremolo and stereo delay.

After writing it out your response makes sense, I’m a pedal noob.

I love this pedal so much, does everything I want and more so I’ve been stressed. I’ll try support again about the freeze problem, thx again!

I just noticed the Genius Joy ingredients nootropic.

Me too Schuman. Reading the Snr. member’s reply now, I suspect I have an old processor from the bad batch. Probably you did too!
