Hi Electro-Harmonix Officials and all rockerz!
I am an active Musician From Bangladesh, South Asia since 1994.
Recently I am planning to get back all into stomps since i liked the metal muff with top boost a lot.. But i need some setup suggestions officially from you.
My Band is De-illumination , which is into the genre of Symphonic metal/rock or Symphonic power metal. So you can see I have to use a lot of patches , separate Delay, chorus and reverb settings as well Drive difference with tube screamer. I have had been mostly using line 6 since 2002 and presently using hd 500,I use the direct output to the PA systems at live and direct at studio. I am bound to use about 30 stored patches for my band with HD500 now..
What I need to know, what would be the Patch direction/Suggestions of all the stomps from you , the Signal chain and everything .
The official dealer of ehx in bangladesh is world music listed at your site and im in touch with them.
Please listen to some of my sounds from http://www.reverbnation.com/deillumination
and please suggest.Thanks.

Umm…how about my new setup suggestion for stomps?
March 1, 2012 at 4:58 pm #117054TenSecondTedMemberI would recommend the Metal Muff. Probably the Top Boost version, as it has an EQ to dial in just the right tone.
Digital Delay? (Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai is amazing)
Chorus? (Neo Clone?)Probably some compression? (Soul Preacher)
Maybe a Phase Shifter (Small Stone)(You would probably need a noise suppressor too)
I don’t play much Power Metal so I’m just guessing!
March 1, 2012 at 5:37 pm #117055angrymachineParticipanthey thanks ted.
Yes i already got a new metal muff with top boost, that is where im totally interested to get back to the root.
I am trying to decide in between some other brands as well, i Hope EHX wont mind discussing openly .Give me your opinion on the following…
1-Boss CS-3 or EHX soul preacher or ibanez Tube screamer?
2-Neo clone or Boss CE-5?
3-Reverb : Holy stain or Boss RV-5? (you know cathedral will be too expensive for me)
4-Delay : Hazarai is bit expensive for me, how about Memory boy delux or boss dd7?
5-Gate: EHX hum debugger or Boss NS-2?(I have to be in between Ehx,Boss and ibanez since we got the only official dealers of them)
Also i have a bit of advance query. I see you have a switchblade, What i would like to do is i keep my separate patches for SOLO+delay tones with sustainer in my pod hd500 for now, i have patched it with my metal muff. So how is it possible to use the switcher to work the same way with stomp effect patch ? Please give a full patch flow post for me
March 1, 2012 at 8:03 pm #117057TenSecondTedMember1- I don’t use a compressor at all, so can’t really recommend if the Soul Preacher or CS-3 is better. Either one should even out your attack.
2- Neo Clone is the same circuit as the Small Clone. Highly recommended.
3- I wouldn’t go for the Holy Stain, as it’s more a multi effects/distortion/pitchshifter/tremolo pedal (the clean reverb on the Holy Stain is excellent however). Might be worth looking at the Holy Grail?
4- DD-7 is excellent (as is DD-3 [cheaper]). Memory Boy Deluxe is an analogue pedal and nearly as expensive as a Hazarai. Lots of delay choices – it depends what you want it for.
5- Hum Debugger is not really a noise suppressor. It removes hum from the signal chain/single coil pickups. You might be better off with the NS-2I use my Switchblade to switch between the 2 channels of my amp as well as some of my effects.
My signal chain is:
Guitar > Wah > Tuner > GermOD > LPB-1 > Switchblade (‘output A’ to amp [top boost channel]) ‘output B’ to Big Muff > SEM > Pulsar > Hazarai > Amp (normal channel)
This means I can switch channels on my amp and/or switch off muff+modulation+delay just with one stomp. (I’m just about to upgrade to Switchblade+)I hope this makes sense!
March 1, 2012 at 8:11 pm #117058Mr.GrimMemberlol couldn’t have sed it better myself, everything above i agree with!^^^^^^^^
other than i do use a tube Black Finger for compressor that i swear by.
March 1, 2012 at 8:32 pm #117059angrymachineParticipantTen and Mr Grim, Thanks a bunch , yes of course it does make a lot of sense, great to hear from u! now to setup the budget lol!
I guess ill be selling off the hd500 soon!
March 1, 2012 at 9:05 pm #117060angrymachineParticipantOh btw what are your thoughts on nano clone? The small clone is not currently available in my country..
March 1, 2012 at 10:25 pm #117061Mr.GrimMemberi personally have used (owned and used) all “clone” units from EHX and the “Nano clone” is crap, but the “Neo Clone” is a direct copy of the “Small Clone” and a very nice sounding and simple chorus unit!
March 2, 2012 at 7:45 pm #117070angrymachineParticipantOk guys i Got the Boss Ns2 and it works really really well. Now i have some power questions before i go to next ones.
I have got a Morley Adaptor ( 9v – 300 mA ) u know the only one they got . And the NS-2 says it has the ability to connect more 7 pedals, my query is if i get a daisy cable will it be fine to power up metal muff with top boost and other EHX pedals if i get them next? all 9v 200 mA pedals?
The morley adaptor works fine with my muff, same as the battery does and less noisy.
