hey, SMMH fans… i keep on hearing that the multi-tap mode with echoes fading in is the BEST THING EVUR, BEYOND SEX, LULZ and so on…
i just can’t come up with any good sounding settings when it comes to those increasing echoes… any tips?
thanks
Well I wouldn’t say the multi-tap echo is beyond sex, but since I had fun with each of those things today (Yay Tut! Today is fun!) I will say that running the Delays close together (faster than you can tap) and Blend full wet (wetter than you can wet) gives you an attack delay/slow gear/microsynth fade-in that’s just great.

Hello there y’all, big cheers from New Delhi, India!
I am sorta new to this so i hope i am not posting any thing that i may consider new but is already out there…anyway, here goes nothing…
Discovered this really cool setting on the Reverse Echo mode a couple of days back when i decided to finally play something on the standard eBGDAE tuning…the settings are –
I have a preset that I love but I can not remember the settings for it. How can I reverse engineer it to find my knob settings so I can write them down?
I remember reading somewhere someone saying a trick to do it.
Hey everyone, I’ve had my Memory Man w/Hazari now for about a year and the one thing I don’t like about it is that my delays won’t trail off after hitting the bypass button. Is there any way around this? Is there something I need to hold down while turning the power?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

Hazarai doesn’t offer trails because it would mess up the signal when it’s off (I think). But still – it doesn’t have a true bypass because it has got stereo in and out (so I’ve heard) so I don’t really know why it doesn’t offer trails…
But you can have trails anyway – you have to split your signal chain in two for example with the Switchblade. Then you can have two separate chains leading into two amps or (like my VOX AC30) two channels or even to just some Y adaptor that will bring them together again. You can normally play with the Hazarai chain and when you hit the switchblade to play with the other, you’ll have your Hazarai still on and it would play all the repeats but your signal won’t go there. I do that with my Deluxe Memory boy that I have in front of my amp…
Here is a SMMH cheat sheet I made for myself since I have trouble remembering all the alternate functions of the knobs. I keep a copy next to my pedalboard for easy access.
FYI –
the numbers in parenthesis are to remind me to reset them before starting that mode …
For the Loop mode, I set REPEATS to full clockwise (100), to ensure the playback volume of the tracks are equal after overdubs; and DELAY to noon (50) so I can speed up/slow down the loop. For the Re. Echo mode, I set DECAY full counter-clockwise (0) so it only has one voice (suggested EH setting).

And here is a blank template I made for my Stereo Memory Man setting. I use a red pin and make marks where the settings are so I don’t have to remember them. It makes recreating sounds much easier. Enjoy!
[how to reverse engineer a preset]
Recall a preset, then move one of the pots. The preset light starts flashing to say you’ve edited the preset. Keep moving the pot until the light stops flashing. You have just identified the setting for this pot. Do this for all pots, and you can reverse engineer any of the presets you have in there.
Don’t mean to bump an old post but can you really reverse engineer the smmwh? I have tried to recall a preset and move the knobs to stop the preset button and no dice? Any help is appreciated!!
