I pretty much agree, although if size is an issue I can see why the SEM might be attractive for some people…..I had one (but sold it) I’m just not a flanger person I guess…..the only thing I really liked was the ‘frozen flanger’ type sounds.

I also have the Flanger/Chorus on the Hazarai if I really feel the need to use one or the other, but that doesn’t happen very often!

The SEM is looking like my next purchase. Does it have a lot of noise to it like most chorus effects? For example, I tried out a Clone Theory that was very noisy.

I had a SEM and noticed no noise at all. :thumb:

The SEM is virtually dead silent. It’s the quietest pedal I’ve ever come across, and I’ve used a lot of pedals.

It’s the most frequently used pedal on my board, and although I’m not too picky about white noise (I used to own a Clone Theory), I can certainly appreciate the purity of the SEM’s effects.

Funny that the review finds it to be not very warm. I think the opposite, and I love the chorus effect on it. It’s almost a polar opposite of the cold and bright (yet lush) Clone Theory, and that’s an analog pedal!

I got me one of these this morning and it is just awesome. It’s like a koala bear crapped a rainbow in my brain, it’s so good. I’ve always been in the “flanger and chorus are almost the same so why not have them in the same pedal?” camp for the longest time. This makes me very happy.
