This might be a pretty easy question for some of you. I know that the SEM has stereo, and chorus, but what makes it different from the DEM, other than that? I know there has to be some difference if they are both still in production.
I’ve played on a DEM but never had the chance to play a SEM. And I want to buy one, so I just want some feedback on that.
Which is your favorite and why?
July 12, 2009 at 10:33 pm #96894electro-melxModeratorThe biggest difference is that the ‘Deluxe’ is analogue and the ‘Stereo’ is digital. They actually sound pretty different, The DEM has the ‘classic’ Electric Mistress sound, the Stereo Electric Mistress has a more ‘modern sound’ stereo outputs and is probably capable of more variations of chorus/flanger type sounds. I think they both sound really good and it would probably come down to which you personally prefered the sound of…… oh and the SEM has an awesome multi coloured LED!
July 13, 2009 at 12:54 am #99287LouisMemberSo when EHX makes a “deluxe” model and a “stereo” model, they are usually analog and digital, like in the memory man? Is this a constant?
July 13, 2009 at 12:56 am #99288LouisMemberAlso, what if I had the DEM and a nano chorus? Would that give some of the same variations or perhaps more since I could set them at different rates and depths?

It would be more money, but i think it’s worth it.
July 13, 2009 at 2:36 am #99292LouisMemberSeveral of the pedals say “stereo” such as the Memory man, Electric Mistress, and the Clone Theory, to name a few. However except for the MM, I dont see any description that says if they are analog or digital. I assume that they are digital since the MM and EM stereo versions are digital, but the EM doesnt say it’s digital anywhere that I’ve seen. So am I to assume that any pedal that says “stereo” is digital?

By the way, I prefer the Deluxe Electric Mistress.
July 13, 2009 at 3:32 am #99295LouisMemberSo what about the Stereo Clone Theory, that seems more versitile than the Small Clone. Is the SCT analog or digital? Wouldn’t that be more desireable than the Small Clone?
I’m probably asking dumb questions, but I gotta find out

Stereo Clone Thoery is analogue….and I didn’t like it much …..I prefer the Stereo EM and Small Clone to that one.

stereo pulsar and stereo clone theory are both analog.
Plus there is the old stereo memory man (completely different than one with hazarai) that was analog.
July 16, 2009 at 9:45 pm #99534AshjaahsMuffParticipanthey guys
just a quick posti have read a lot of bits n bobs on here and am torn between the Stereo Electric Mistress And The PolyChorus
i only really want to use slight bits n bobs of flange n chorus, what do you guys also think to the marshall rg 1 ??
thanks
July 16, 2009 at 11:27 pm #99537julianModeratorI don’t know much about the Marshall RG-1.
As for what chorus/flange- what kind of music do you play? The polychorus has a very distinct recognizable sound that you may or may not like.
July 16, 2009 at 11:42 pm #99538AshjaahsMuffParticipanti play sorta indie music, with a bit of an original mix of genres if that makes any sense
cause my band members have multile tastes this comes out in our writing you know ?
id say we mainly admire KASABIANwith the flange n chorus
im looking at just expanding my modualtion and getting a bit more creative but as im realtivly new to modulation i dont want to use something mega complicatedhowever i dont have much more room on my board lol !!!
thanks for your reply i hope you can help !!!
July 17, 2009 at 12:34 am #99540julianModeratorKasabian.
Hmmmm. That’s a British group.
MelX needs to get his butt in here, because he could advise you better than I could.
I’m going to guess and say that the Stereo Electric Mistress fits your style more, and I’m thinking MelX will agree.
July 17, 2009 at 7:30 am #99546AshjaahsMuffParticipantyh kasabian are a british group
