I was sick of my Sovtek’s input and output being on the wrong sides, and I had to run it upside down. So tonight, I opened it up and and am happy to report that the board is easy to flip over. So now, right in, left out, just as I like it.

that’s tempting… not a huge worry of mine, but if I get board I’ll keep in mind that I can flip mine! Thanks.

I have opened my BMP several times just because I like to dismantle everything that has screws haha. But one day I read somewhere that you could flip the board, so I did that and now I’m so happy with it. Just take a HUGE care with wires, and when changing the 9v.

You can only flip the PCB on a few sovtek versions, some of them the traces will ground out on the enclosure and the pedal wont work. The current issues of it are flippable though.

I have had my rusian big muff for a few months now, and the switched jacks really don’t bother me, but good to know it’s switchable. btw How do you now if it’s the most recent issue?

Well, I bought mine on dec 2008 brand new, and it’s the black version. So give it a try, if it doesn’t work…

Its the new version if it cost you $50 or so and is black thin sheet metal with a yellow font, chickenhead style knobs and doesn’t weigh much.

Yeah, it has the green/yellow writing on it and I paid $50.00 for it on Amazon.com. From what I understand there was a version that looked very similar (black w/ green/yellow writing) but was a bit bigger. Anyways, I definitely preer the Russian Big Muff over the American Big Muff. It goes great with my Stereo Polychorus.

You’ll know if its un-flippable anyways, the traces will touch the enclosure when you try to put it back together and it wont work when on.
