Hi folks. Does anyone know how to produce that special fat tone on the first notes on the Cream song that features on the EHX Cock Fight Demo video as featured under “products/ next step”? Could it be that a pitch shifter is used next to the fuzz? The same sound can be found too on the intro of the Eagles song “One of these nights”.
Hi Its an overdub of 3 parts to form chords like the record.
With the cock fight the sound is huge.
Some intelligent pitch shifters will let you program two notes to form chords like that.
Thanks for your quick reply. When you say 3 overdubs do you mean that 3 of the same/several chord notes are played and then recorded on top of each otherin several takes? I’m not sure i’m catching your line of thinking. How is it done in the video since it sounds it was done instantaneously in one take, and was it done the same way in the sixties?
Dante.
You record the melody and then overdub two harmony parts.
Just like it was done on the original record.
