Hi – I’m using a Nano SP with a 9v power supply with no complaints. I read on another forum recently that users of other similar Compressor units are using 12 or 18v power supplies to increase headroom. Up to now, I would never have considered using a supply rated anything other than the correct voltage for fear of causing any damage, but I’m curious about this. So before I give it a try, can anybody with expert knowledge advise on this? Thanks in advance.
It has internal voltage regulation so increasing the input voltage isn’t going to make any difference.
Thanks for the quick reply – but, just to be clear, do you mean “it won’t make any difference” as in “Your pedal will be fine, go for it!” or “there’s no point in doing it” ?
“there’s no point in doing it”
No matter how much voltage you put into it, the regulator makes sure the pedal only sees the 9v and whatever else it needs. Too much voltage will destroy the regulator and possibly other parts in the pedal.
oh well – Thanks for the info !
