I didnt know how to word it in the title, but when i engage my small stone phaser through a clean channel on my guitar amp, the output has a distorted, almost like a light overdrive sound while it phases. It doesnt have that clean phaser sound. What could be causing this? I have checked the IC’s with a multimeter and they all have the same voltages at all the pins, the board does have a bit of rust. All the wiring has been tripled check. I was thinking it might be the 3 electrolytic caps need to be replaced? Also, when i first plug it in, the pedal has no phase effect, starts to make this whooshing sound, gets faster, and then phaser starts working but is distorted. Any help or ideas???
sounds like a capacitor problem. try replacing all the electrolytics
if that doesn’t work set up an audio probe and by reading the schematic, follow the audio path and find the stage where the problem happens
