I’ll make my 1979 small stone true bypass with the lower of the two alternative bypass routings in the attached picture. Question is, where do I solder the ground wire, going from the switch? Somewhere on the circuit board? To ground on the input or output jacks?
Question extracted from this thread: https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/663/P0/
To the ground connection on a jack would work fine.
OK thx!
Just out of curiosity, is there a ground spot on the circuit board?
I’m sure there is.
Where is it located?
Sorry for all stupid questions. I’m a newbie..
I don’t know exactly, but it would be wherever the negative battery terminal connects.
I soldered the wire going from switch to ground on output jack. Works! No oscillation in bypass mode with color switch on!
But still there’s a rether loud pop when engaging the effect and color mode is on. Is there a way to get rid of the pop?
Best regards,
Thomas
Solder a 1/4watt 4.7Meg resistor from input jack in to input jack ground. Should solve the problem with out any negative side effects.
I soldered the resistor to the input jack. Tip to sleeve. I still get the pop when engaging the effect in color mode on. I attached a picture. It looks done all right? Is there something else I can try?
Best regards,
Thomas
