I have an oddly behaving Small Stone Nano I hope someone can help shed some light on.
With GUITAR>SMALLSTONE>AMP and powered with my 1spot the LED is dim and the effected signal is just as in bypass. There is no phase at all.
But if I connect any other pedal either before or after the Small Stone (also powered with the 1spot) the LED powers up and the pedal works normally. With a battery the pedal works in all situations.
So if I want to run the Small Stone in isolation I have to use a battery. Is this a problem with the Small Stone or the 1spot? Bearing in mind it seems to work fine in a chain of effects, is there anything to worry about?
Thank you
i must say that i think there is sumthing wrong with your nano stone. as you can see my current chain of effects below in my signature, i run all those i can with 2 one spot daisy chains with the exception of ones with higher voltage. i have never had the problem you mention. i truly believe the problem lies within the nano stone power, not the power supply.
try using the 9v battery adapter for the one spot, instead of the normal barrel lug, that fixes sum issues i sum times have, unfortunately with the new nano enclosures, good luck finding a way to run the cord out from the box without leaving the bottom off.
Thank you for your advice, I’ll give it a try with the battery connector. It just seems odd to me that it only works with another pedal after it… so I won’t get the drill out just yet! Thanks again.
Weird behaviour — sounds exactly like what happens with Boss aca vs. psa, where the common ground bypasses the stepdown diode, but I don’t think the SS has anything like that. Def sounds like something’s not grounding properly though but you’re getting shared ground through the other pedal.
Ah, thanks for that info, that definately sounds like what is happening. I opened the nano up thinking there might be a grounding wire that had come loose from the chassis but it’s all just PCB. So I tightened the nuts (assuming they are the ground?) and put her back together and the problem remains.
