    Hi,

I recently found that while my Small Stone pedal is still working, the on/off LED no longer lights. When I took the case off I found that the red wire coming from the LED has become disconnected, but I have no idea where it needs to be re-soldered. The white cable is still firmly attached, as I’ve shown on the attached photos, and the unit still works, but it’d be nice to know whether it was on or off at any given moment. If anyone would enlighten me, I’d certainly appreciate it.

    Seamus

P.S. I have tried to work it out from the wiring diagrams posted on this site and on the tinterwebs but I failed miserably – I’m ok with a soldering iron, I just need someone to point me in the right direction if possible. Cheers.

Just in case you need to know which version it is, here is a photo of the case.

    I have that exact pedal,

    hang on…

right the other wire off the LED goes to the footswitch, looking at the second picture you posted it’s the top left lug.

    so like this

    1 2 3
    4 5 6

    it’s lug 1.

You can never have too many. I have 4 or 5 vintage units and 4 or 5 Sovteks.

haha, it’s my fourth, but the only one I own right now.

Do you know how old this versions is Ron? it’s like the last ones but in the old six screw case… early 2000’s or late 90’s or something? I was amazed how heavy the bottom part of the case is, much thicker than the USA pedals.

Late 90s would be my guess. I wish I’d been able to keep better track of the case changes.

Yeah, I don’t remember when they switched to the smaller type either, you didn’t see enough around in the UK really to have any idea. I didn’t even realise they had changed until I saw one of the last russian muff in a shop and thought “I could have sworn they were bigger than that!”

Fantastic – a lightening-fast answer and a bit of history on the pedal. Thanks a million, I’ll be giving it a go shortly and will (hopefully) confirm that it worked soon.

Beautiful, worked a treat, thanks guys. When I removed the footswitch to re-solder the lead, it was obvious. The number of times I tried to see where it came from… Anyway, all sorted now, cheers.

I have the same problem but on a reissue eh4800 small stone. Any idea where the red wire goes from the LED? Thanks!
