The problem is this I’m guessing….EHX check and test every pedal before it leaves the factory …. on the vintage style pedals the wires are soldered directly to the footswitch (unlike on an XO where it has a little circuit board).
True, but on the latest Big Muff version it uses a daughter board for the 3PDT and is connected to the main PCB with ribbon cable, much like the XO’s. The new one will be more reliable IMO.

So, I’m clueless, will see if the power adapter helps. Only have 7 days to return on Ebay, so, am not sure what to do yet. Love the tone of this pedal and am reluctant to give it up.
Thanks again for the replies.

It worked fine for a while and then one day just started doing what you had described, cutting the signal when clicked on and just being a bypass otherwise. I left it alone for a long time (5 or 6 months) and just randomly decided to give it a try the other day and now it’s working perfectly. I have no idea. Doesn’t make me feel very good though-I was thinking about buying a Holy Grail but am kind of reluctant if there is some kind of issue with the consistency of quality.

EXH are back in my good graces as I’m very happy with the Small Clone (sooo much better than the Boss Super Chorus) and Holy Stain. Now just need to save up for a Pog.

my small clone has done a similar thing, so i opened it up, but noticed a blue wire had come loose, does anyone know where i should solder this?March 10, 2014 at 4:48 am #119759johnthefishermanMemberI have the same problem. Looked inside, Everything looks good to me, no loose wires. At the same time, I am not good with this sort of stuff (Soldering, electrical schematics, Etc…) I have a power adapter and it does not work. I try using a battery, still does not work. I just bought it from a dude on craigslist for 30 bux, not a huge loss, but It would be awesome to get this thing working. So to be clear, When the switch is off, I can hear my guitar, turn the switch on the led light comes on, no sound at all. Took a closer look and one of the grounds from the power for the plug was loose. it was on the same peice of solder (i dont know what its called) as a red wire. I soldered it back and it works fine. hopefully that can help some people. IF the pedal is not working when you switch it on, look around for loose wires on the power source (9v plug or for battery )
