hey guys, im cloning an octave multiplexer and i was wondering if i can use sliding pots
instead of the normal rotary pots
and not have to worry about it. i know i have to get the right size pot (2 100k’s and 1 10k) but i was wondering if i can just use sliders instead of turners. thanks
yes you can. Good luck routing the enclosures for sliders though!
probly the most simple way to do the holes for them at home, would be to make a stencil and use a Dremel rotary tool with the right attachments.
thats exactly what i was thinkin. thanks guys and julian, have more faith in me
It’s not you that I don’t have faith in, it’s just not nearly as easy as drilling.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t sliding pots far less reliable than rotary?
i think its more of an issue of them being more susceptible to getting dust, dirt, or liquids spilled into them, when a rotary type are more enclosed.
