    Hello Electro Harmonix Bass players.

    What effect do you think would be the best representation of the effect for the RHCP “Sir Psycho Sexy”

    Flea used a Multron with a dying battery during the recording (20 years ago).

    Any thoughts o this

    he does it now with a Q-Tron
    Bassballs will get you close too
    Esp if you run some dirt in front of it.

    I’m picking up a Bassballs actually (should be here next week) I just like that sound of that pedal in general.
    I have a little blendable fuzz pedal that I’m going to try in front and I’ll give that a shot.

    Ok I have the Bassballs and absolutely love it.

    To be honest I’m just using that for the effect with the distortion dialed in at about 10 0’clock.
    I backed off the highs on my bass just a smidge and it pretty close…To me it sounds better LOL

    flea does taht with a Q tron

    but a friend do it with enigma q balls, and it sounds awesome! even better!

    I had been wondering the same thing for a long time. with what electro bass would you accomplish the most similar results?

    in the 90’s flea had used a mutron, now a days he use a Q Tron (Old Version)

    my friend uses the enigma q balls, and it sounds really great
    he tried to the mxr bass envelope filter, it was nice too
    but the preferd EHX

    I believe (by the demos I saw) that pedals like doctor Q, bassballs, can’t do it well

    my first post
    i played this in acovers band for about ten years and i used a bass balls pedal with the built in distortion switched on. a treble cut and mid boost on my bass and it sounds quite clase live. i also had to sing anthony keidis’s part at the same time too so i recomend the bassballs. my one is the biggish black sovteck/ehx one that came out in the nineties with a cool wooden box.
    good luck man great song.
    you can also get the bass sound from falling into grace from one hot minute with the bassbals too.
