Just got my first noise gate and im super confused on how to use the silencer send and return, i dont have much experience with effects loops.
I have it working fine on my guitar going into the front of the amp: guitar>silencer>fuzz>od>AMP.
Also have eq>chorus>delay going into my AMPS effects loop (6505+ head), but the loop has a fairly loud hum when its activated.
Not sure how/if i can run the AMPS effects loop + the pedals connected to the AMPS effects loop INTO the silencer at the SAME TIME as the guitar going though the gate into the front of the amp, or would i need another noise gate pedal to quiet the AMPS effects loop hum at the same time as the guitar?
thanks for any help.
did a little ms paint diagram of how its set up now, lol
again, it works great right now until i activate the effects loop on the 6505+ , then it starts humming pretty loud
You could try the following signal chain:
Guitar -> Silencer INPUT
Silencer OUTPUT -> Amp FX Return
Silencer SEND -> Fuzz Pedal Input
Tube Screamer Output -> Amp Input
Amp FX Send -> EQ->Chorus->Delay
Delay Output -> Silencer RETURN
Boss has a nice page explaining different connections that can be made with their noise gate pedal. Since the Silencer has similar jacks you should be able to make the same signal chains with the Silencer as Boss describes on their webpage:
