    I just purchased the Silencer pedal to reduce the Hum I get when my dirty channel is active. I have an Orange CR Crush 120 head. I run a pedal board via the effects loop. The active effects from the board are controlled by a BOSS ES 5 switching system. I also use the ES 5 to control the channels on my Head, this way I can use the distortion from my head instead of another pedal. The only time I get the hum is when the distortion channel from the head is active. I currently have the silencer incorporated into the pedal board using the Send/Return as well as the input/output. The issue I’ve found so far is that I have to have the threshold up so much to eliminate the Hum when playing dirty, that other settings that do not use the distortion form the head are being cut out unless I’m strumming really hard, which is not going to work for me. I’m wondering if there is different set up configuration because my distortion isn’t really part of the effects loop, and I have no issues with hum coming from any pedals in the effects loop.

    Threshold at 10:00, reduction just below 12.
    Adjust as necessary.
    If that’s still not enough, perhaps you’re just usig overly noisey gear crabked up into higher gain than it should be (no offense, im not trying to call anybody’s tone trash or anything…. But some people.go too far with the gain when they don’t need it. Less it more)

    Thanks for the feedback, I was looking for more of a hook up suggestion, I have spent a lot of time playing with the settings of the Silencer pedal itself, and the amount of Hum I get is directly effected by the venues where I play, sometimes none, other times a ton, My last show started out with a fairly decent amount of Hum and by the third set there was no hum and I had turned the Silencer completely off??? I have changed my pedal board config since my original post, so I can use the ES5 to control which patches are using the silencer, we will see how it goes.
