Purchased an EHX Silencer and it is in the mail!
My current noise gate doesn’t have a buffer or an effects loop.
I was curious how the buffer and noise gate were applied to the signal in the effects loop and in the guitar to amp connections.
I’m assuming the buffer occurs immidiately after the guitar in connection and the noise filter is placed right before the amp out connection.
This would allow the effects loop to receive the buffered signal, incase your loop is a long journey, then on the tail end the noise gate is there to clean up the buffered signal after the effects loop.
Then the regular guitar in guitar out works the same, just without the effects loop?
Please let me know if I’m way off.
You are correct!
