Home › Forums › The Lounge › Saw Mission of Burma last night- Big Muff and 2880 action.
Roger Miller’s only pedal was a Big Muff from the 80s that was rehoused into a 1590S sized hammond box. It was also modded, and it sounded great. He had an amazing guitar sound. He ran it into an already overdriven Marshall combo.
I saw Bob Weston (who does the loops) carrying a 2880 around after the show. I thought they only used tape, but i guess they’ve gone digital. Bob Weston is their sound man/4th band member, he takes loops off of stuff from the board and manipulates them and plays them back
Here’s are some recent live videos of them (not from last night, hopefully someone took some and will post some on the youtube)

You can see him turning his Big Muff on and off in this video

the looping parts are very prominent on this song
BTW, they played some new stuff last night that’s really awesome. They’ve got a new single called Innermost out that’s really great, and the new album comes out in a month entitled the Sound, the Speed, the Light.
Yeah, and easier to do precise looping, which maybe they’re in favor of now instead of the more random thing.
Btw they’ve got some shows in the west (but I see you’re in NJ ) and I thought some people would be interested.
