    Hello,

    I have a Russian Big Muff that when bypassed does not pass audio. Also, when I engaged you can barley hear it. I mean it is hardly there.

    Where do I start? I opened her up and all the components look good and the connections…well most look alright.

    Sounds like it could be a bad footswitch. You can short the input jack lug and the output jack lug together and see if you get sound.

    Black Russian Big Muff. Black 6 lug footswitch.

    Ok, there are 2 rows of 3 lugs. 1 row is for the LED so you can ignore it. The other row is the signal. The center lug is the output jack wire. Plug the pedal up, turn the volume to 1/2, and short the center lug to either end. If you don’t hear anything, try the other lug. If you get a good signal out of the pedal, your switch is bad.

    Wow. I will try that tonight. If it is dead…I think I might have to do that true bypass mod.
