Flick- something you have to try with the RING THING if you haven’t tried it yet.
I just modified my Frequency Analyzer to have a carrier in. And I found using the HOG’s dry output with the HOG on gives TONS of interesting results.
BTW, related story. . . At a friend’s request from another board, I used the frequency analyzer’s dry out into the the carrier in and instead of getting octave like I thought. . . I got some pretty awesome distortion. Weird, but cool.
February 8, 2010 at 7:34 pm #107270TenSecondTedMemberThat’s a great clip.
I love it when clips show you the features and sounds of the product rather than how good the guitarist is.February 18, 2010 at 2:00 am #107649WeightedWingsMemberAny word on how functional the whammy style stuff is? Can I do the harmony effects that the digitech whammy can do? Also, any ideas on a price yet?
February 18, 2010 at 5:13 am #107656rocknroll22Memberi really need to know what the price for this pedal will be, cuz this will be the deciding factor for whether or not i get this or the frequency analyzer come early march.

I’m thinking the differentiation between the EH ring mods will be as follows:
XO Frequency Analyzer: Small for small pedalboards, simple, great analog sound
XO Ring Thing: super versatile, live performance friendly
Big Box Frequency Analyzer: Big, clunky, awesome looks, great analog tone, and incredibly mod friendly.I just have the big Box Frequency Analyzer and I want to buy another to put in my synth rig, though I do also want an XO frequency Analyzer and a Ring Thing and a Moog.
I’m a total Ring Modulation junkie!
February 19, 2010 at 12:29 am #107686fantomenosMemberMad ape has them listed at $209.25, versus $149 for freq analyzer, so julian has it right.
February 19, 2010 at 1:18 am #107687julianModerator210 makese sense. Most of their 2 footswitch pedals are around 210.
February 19, 2010 at 4:56 am #107692julianModeratorDEVO used a lot of ring mod early on.
I’ve written a lot of riffs and songs around ring modulation. But I’m also a huge noise rocker. You’d probably hear some of the songs I’ve written and go “WTF?”
February 19, 2010 at 5:50 am #107699julianModeratorYou’ve probably heard more but just don’t know it.
Most FX that are new are nothing new, it’s true. But there’s infinite variations and innovations.
February 23, 2010 at 4:24 am #107825PabloMemberIf I get one of these I’ll be kicked outta my band,
my Frequency Analyzer’s already freaked them out enoughFebruary 23, 2010 at 8:26 pm #107866julianModeratorOne of the reasons I dumped my first girlfriend was because she didn’t take my frequency analyzer seriously.
February 23, 2010 at 10:36 pm #107873TenSecondTedMemberMy wife often says I don’t take her big muff seriously either!
