um… this EHX we are talking about. They called a knob ‘Hazarai’
good point!
at least they don’t call delay time knobs “rate” like some manufacturers!
lol, no but they do call the fuzz knob on a big muff ‘sustain’
January 15, 2010 at 12:20 pm #106447DarkAxelParticipanthey, that looks rad! im looking forward for some videos ASAP
January 15, 2010 at 3:54 pm #106452The Radium KingMemberi think that a ring modulator is, by definition, single sideband (the audio is summed against a single carrier at a single frequency). the upper and lower sideband control is just a frequency range switch – a slow carrier will provide vibrato effects, while a fast freqeuncy gives ring mod effects. the whammy-style effects are achieved by varying the frequency of the carrier wave, so that the pitch of the output varies accordingly …
or not.
January 15, 2010 at 4:36 pm #106453wilfbiffherbMemberwhen does this beast go onsale?! good job it came out as ive been eyeing up a frequency analyzer for a bit. would hate to have bought it and then had this released straight after!

Ah, yes this sounds right to me… wiki says that sideband modulation is the amplitude modulation used in radio signals
January 15, 2010 at 9:29 pm #106463SupremePancakeMemberQuote:so is this the big brother/cousin to the ring modulator? it has blend, filter, and fine as common variables. the rm means ring mod im pretty sure, and i guess ub and lb means upper/lower(side)band. “High quality whammy style effects with expression pedal” does that meani would really love that. does anybody know what this “Single Sideband Modulator” means?
Wait the Ring Thing does harmonies?
If so I’m buying it ASAP.January 15, 2010 at 9:46 pm #106464pencil-inMemberI’m gonna take a stab in the dark guess here that when you play a note, press and hold the tune footswitch and the carrier auto-tunes to the note you are playing?!!!
January 15, 2010 at 10:41 pm #106465BlueSteelParticipantI must hear a demo of this right now!!
January 15, 2010 at 11:39 pm #106468electro-melxModeratorI’m sure there will be a namm youtube video around soon….. everyone keep their eyes open!
January 16, 2010 at 4:03 am #106474ToonsterMemberI need a ring-mod always thought about a frequency analyzer, but now I am waiting for some demoes of this 1. Makes me very curious.. Is it completely digital or is it a hybrid?
January 16, 2010 at 6:27 am #106480The Radium KingMemberagain, my opinion is easily worth what you pay for it, but it is probably easier to do a ring mod analog than digital. presets, etc. , are digital, audio path analog.

January 16, 2010 at 6:28 pm #106493The Radium KingMemberdunno, what ring mods do is pitch shift – take a 110 hz carrier wave, combine it with a 440 hz audio signal, and you get a 330 hz output – that’s a 330 hz pitch shift done analog. what is prolly digital is the control of the carrier wave to track the audio signal so that the pitch shift tracks.
a whole lot of supposition on one picture of a pedal!
