Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Ring Thing problem with expression pedal
hi, first, i am new in this forum and german, so please excuse my english
I have a big problem with my Ring Thing. It really sounds great and does everything as it should, except to work with any expression pedals i tried with it.
I tried it many times on my own at home, sent it back for another, but nothing helped.
At least I tried it at Justmusic, the biggest music store in berlin, with the employers but even with their knowledge, it didnt work.
Pedals we tried were: M-Audio EX-P Expression Pedal; Boss FV-500L; Source Audio Hot Hand Wireless Ring.
I studied the manual, searched for answers in the internet and youtube again and again but i couldnt find my exact problem anywhere. First I thought it is my stupidity, but after the hour of trying with the whole guitar / bass section of Justmusic, I am just getting more desperate.
I just dont know what to do, so I hope maybe someone of you could help me out of this
I would be glad for everything answer
I have a Moog expression pedal and it works well with the ring thing. It’s a little big though, so I bought a Nose Blue 2 Expression and unfortunately it does not work with the Ring thing or Memory boy deluxe. I guess they are particular.
What is the problem exactly? Is it that the pedal doesn’t work at all, or does it work but incorrectly?
I just sent my Ring Thing to Electro Harmonix in NYC to have them do a free software update on it, because I tried three of the expression pedals recommended in the manual and none of them worked properly. Every time I’d use the expression pedals to do whammy up effects, it would never come up to full pitch but always be a little flat. A few people on the forums here complained about the same thing. A few have had other malfunctions.
