Hello to all MIDI geeks: I found a way to clock the Ring Thing to MIDI.
I use an iPad (iPhone or iPod would work just as well, I guess) and the free KORG syncKontrol app. It sends a click Signal that is regognized by the EXP input (NOT the MOD input, that works differently). The app is meant to clock the KORG Monotribe, which apparently expects a 3V control signal. The EXP input works with 5V max CV – the result: it works brilliantly! All I need is a standard 3,5mm Stereo audio cable. The iPad is synced via Bluetooth to other MIDI devices – and the RING THING rocks in perfect sync! FUN!
N.B. works probably with all EHX devices that accept CV signals in ther EXP inputs – has anyone tried that yet, e.g. with the Memory Boy?

It might work with the digital effects like the Ring Thing, but I don’t think a click signal would do much good for say, the EXP input for the Worm?
Also, if you just wanna sync the Ring Thing to a specific BPM, the Visual Sound Time Bandit might also be a good option!
Hi,
I tried doing the same but somehow it doesn’t work for me. Could you kindly share the knobs setting and the settings of the app? Please, I can’t find about this anywhere else!
