Chumley’s Facebook status is “I GOT E-POKED BY SOMEONE IN EHX R&D!”
You are in R&D, right?

Sorry, didn’t mean to confuse! It seemed you were saying you’d like to see more combo videos — and I was saying I’d like to see whatever you — or anybody else — might come up with.
(and, fwiw, I’d say that the Effectology videos are pretty neat ‘combo’ videos, if you haven’t checked them out yet)
June 16, 2009 at 9:36 pm #97977ChumleyParticipantWell, the Effectology videos effectively show the upper limit of what EHX gear is capable of, as opposed to a demo similar to the product demos you have on individual pedal’s pages.
Also, I really prefer official videos… but I know it can’t be cheap to have guys like Peter Stroud demoing gear.

June 17, 2009 at 3:54 am #97986nneekolasParticipantI think there is definitely room for having both. It’s good to having the individual pedal demonstrations by Dan Miller and Peter Stroud (my favorite of the video demo-ers) to show you what the pedal, on its own, is capable of (or to scratch the surface). And videos like Jack Conte and Bill Ruppert show you “combinations,” or rather, how the features of the pedal interact with other pedals in a band/song context. I don’t think videos can show you every single thing you could do, they just push your thinking and inspire ideas. Bill Ruppert’s “Mellotron” mp3s on his site blew my mind– that guy is a wizard.
ANYWAY, Q-Balls! I’m pumped about it.

June 17, 2009 at 6:43 pm #98015ChumleyParticipantOr maybe just hire Hi I’m Andy From Pro Guitarshop.com Playing Through A G&L Legacy Into A 65 Amp Soho Here’s The Pedal In True Bypass to do some stuff…
And Scott, I sort of mean a medium between the Talking Head demos and the Videosong demos.
June 17, 2009 at 7:02 pm #98016DreamhunterMemberI think the demos like the ones by Dan Miller (i like his demos better than the ones by Peter Stroud btw) are more informative for a potential buyer. You get to see better what the pedal does, how it works. The song ones, like the ones by Jack Conte (which i love) are great to inspire you and show you the potential of the pedals. But, if i had to choose between the two, i’d go for the “talking head” type. Ideally you should keep doing both types.
And yes, the demos by Andy from Pro guitarshop are great usually, a good combination of good playing and information. And great variety in his song choices.
June 17, 2009 at 7:34 pm #98017julianModeratorI like it the Pro Guitar Shop way, and I like it the song way.
June 17, 2009 at 8:14 pm #98019(imho) Andy from ProGuitarShop is particularly great at doing demos, so my props out to him!
June 18, 2009 at 12:26 am #98030julianModeratorThe song choices that he makes are great. He seems to get what a pedal is about and really rock it. I don’t want to just hear a bunch of blues-fusion played through a Big Muff, I wanna hear RAW POWER. And he gets that.
June 18, 2009 at 1:46 pm #98057julianModeratorQuote:Quote:Quote:EHX should do more demos of pedals in combination… ya hear that? *poke*It’d be really cool to do demos of common combos, eg, Dr. Q/Big Muff or Big Muff/Holy Grail…
*pokes Scott*
And Scott pokes YOU right back!
dude, scott, are you related to mike mathews?
i think this qballs is just q(tron)+bassballs.
ive heard that before, but i thought i just wanna say it.Scott is Mike Matthews son.
I highly doubt the details are just Q-tron plus Bassballs, being that the Q-balls photo shows controls that neither of them have.
June 18, 2009 at 7:33 pm #98091SiriustarMemberIt’d totally be my dream job to demo EHX pedals. Just send of each of the new line over to me, Scott, and you’ll have awesome, in-depth demos, with HQ recording, and all that stuff within a week!
I could even take requests on what sort of settings people want to see from the forum. Or maybe songs that they want to hear recreated through the pedals. Oh, man, I’m getting too excited thinking about how awesome that’d be.

Haha.
Now I’m going to.
I’m going to post a thread in the trick, clips, etc. forum, where people can request songs or settings for the EHX pedals that I have.
